I’m only 11 mins into the episode but wanted to tell a story that is related to Eddie’s comment about how bank robberies would stop if the tellers were forceful. In 1997 I used to work nights at a convenience store in Portland where I heard a story about a fellow employee who said “No, Fuck You” when someone tried to rob his store. This employee was a skinny, waif of a boy from the south, not a big scary guy at all. Well the robber was so shocked by this that he ran out the store and robbed another convenience store down the street. He was able to rob the store but as he was escaping, he jumped into the wrong car, with someone in it, enough time for the cops to arrive and arrest him. That’s my story…now back to the podcast…..

Ambers story of the robbery and the tone of the cops reminds me of a time I was robbed at an office depot. No one got hurt but I was the cashier that was threatened and the cops still came in and yelled at me. I so badly wanted to punch them in the face, you don’t yell at someone who’s life was just threatened. I think they are dicks like that no matter what the circumstances because their adrenalin is up and they are not thinking.
The only cop I saw handle this correctly was a female cop who actually hugged a girl who had just been threatened at gun point.
